Lamphun Temples - Half Day Tour (CMHD8)
This tour starts at 8.30am or
1pm. (You can take the tour in the morning or afternoon.) You are picked up from your
hotel by your guide.
Drive south of Chiang Mai (approx 25kms), to the town of Lamphun; taking the road which is
lined with enormous old rubber trees. Tour around the town, including the local market.
Take a tour of the old part of the town in a samlor (bicycle rickshaw). Then visit the two
most important temples - Wat Haripunchai and Wat Kukut (Chamathewi).
Haripunchai temple is an excellent example of an old Lanna style temple set
in a courtyard with some impressive architectural features. Kukut temple
houses one of the oldest stupas in Northern Thailand dating back to before
Chiang Mai was built. Afterwards drive back to Chiang
Mai.
This tour ends when you are taken back to your hotel at approx midday. or 5pm, depending
on whether you took the tour in the morning or afternoon.
Note: This is a private tour and entrance fees are
included. Lunch is not included.
