In the evening there's time to wander around the village and your guide will tell you about the Lahu culture. On the way visit the Padong 'long neck' tribe who wear brass rings around the neck making them look extra long especially the older women who have worn the rings for many years. Spend the night in a riverside resort in Thaton, with time in the evening to wander around and explore this charming , sleepy little town. (B,L) Day 3 In the morning drive south from Thaton and stop at Chiang Dao Caves, a complex of ancient cave temples used as sites of worship for many centuries. Then continue on to visit a Palong hilltribe village, where we spend some time to explore the village. This tribe wears distinctive red clothing with bamboo fashioned hoops around the waist and recently migrated from Burma. Continue south from Chiang Dao towards Chiang Mai, upon reaching Chiang Mai we take you to visit Chiang Mai's most famous temple - Doi Suthep temple; situated on a hill overlooking the city.
