Our three day tours to the Golden Triangle and Chiang Rai offer you a range of itineraries which take you to explore; Mae Sai, on the border of Myanmar & Thailand; Chiang Saen, on the banks of the Mekong River; Chiang Rai, the main town of the upper north of Thailand; Mae Salong , the Chinese settlement located in the hills of the upper north; as well as all the special sights. Sights along the way include, elephant camps, ancient cave temples, Padong (long neck) tribe, hilltribe villages, boat trips on the Kok and Mekong Rivers, elephant trekking to remote villages and overnight stays in hilltribe villages. Day 1 Drive north of Chiang Mai, first visiting the orchid farm and then drive further north, close to Chiang Dao. Stop at the Chiang Dao Elephant Camp and watch the elephants going through their early morning routine. Then take a ride on the elephants for 1 1/2 hrs to a Lisu hilltribe village. After lunch we visit the Chiang Dao Caves - an ancient complex of temple caves used for worship for many centuries. Lastly we continue the journey up to Thaton (on the banks of the Kok River) where we spend the night. (L) Overnight at Thaton Riverview Resort Day 2 In the morning visit the Padong (long neck tribe). This tribe is famous for the brass rings worn around the womens necks which give the appearance of a long neck. Then continue on to Mae Salong, an ethnic Chinese town set in the hills north of Chiang Rai. Mae Salong is famous for its Chinese atmosphere and produces various Chinese agricultural products the most famous being its Chinese tea. Drive down from Mae Salong which gives you views across the hills of upper Northern Thailand and visit the border town of Mae Sai. This town is on the border of Thailand and Burma and is the centre for cross border trade in the area. There are markets on both sides of the border. Check in to our hotel in Chiang Rai. Relax for the evening in Chiang Rai. (B,L) Day 3 Early morning there is time to see the Mekong River. Then we take a longtail boat down the Mekong River (approx. 1hr) to Chiang Saen. We explore the town of Chiang Saen with its ancient temples. In the afternoon drive back to Chiang Rai - stop for lunch and visit Wat Phra Kaew. Day 1 Drive from Chiang Mai up to Chiang Dao (approx. 1 hr.) and stop at the elephant camp. After watching the elephants demonstrating their skills, take a ride and admire the view from your seat on the elephant's back. Then explore some hilltribe villages and learn about the cultural variety of the area. Two of the tribes you will see are the Palong and the Lisu, two of the most colourful and interesting tribes. Then drive on to Taton where we will spend the night at a riverside resort. (L) Overnight at the Thaton Riverview resort. Day 2 In the morning we explore the town of Thaton and drive just outside to visit the Padong tribe (long neck tribe). This tribe is famous for the brass rings worn around the womens' necks which give the appearance of a long neck. After lunch take a longtail boat from Taton to Chiang Rai. You will be able to see the scenery and life along the river banks. The boat journey lasts for approx 3 hrs. We finish the journey in Chiang Rai; after rejoining our vehicle we check in to our hotel in Chiang Rai. Relax for the evening in Chiang Rai.. (B,L) Day 3 In the morning we drive up to the Mekong River and then we explore the ancient temples of Chiang Saen. We also drive up to the Burmese border at Mae Sai and spend some time to explore this bustling market town. Late afternoon, drive back to Chiang Mai passing through Chiang Rai and there is the option of stopping at a local resort to taste some of the best locally grown coffee.(B,L). Day 1 Drive from Chiang Mai to Chiang Rai (approx. 3 hrs) stopping at the hotsprings along the way. After lunch take a boat trip along the Kok River (approx. 1 hr) to the elephant camp. At the elephant camp, we mount our elephants for the ride up to the Lahu hilltribe village where we spend the night. It's a ride of approx. 2 hrs and the leisurely pace means we can enjoy the scenery along the way. Spend the night in a Lahu hilltribe village. In the evening there's time to wander around the village and your guide will tell you about the Lahu culture. (L,D) Day 2 In the morning walk approx 1 hr. to a forestry camp and from there drive to see an Akha village. After exploring the Akha village drive to the Burmese border town of Mae Sai where you will see the bustling trade that goes on every day. This is a market town so there's a chance to shop for souvenirs - including jade and handicrafts. After lunch drive to see the Golden Triangle and Chiang Saen, on the banks of the Mekong River. See the point where the three countries of Burma, Laos and Thailand meet and the ancient temples of Chiang Saen. Afterwards in the late afternoon, drive to Thaton, where we spend the night. On the way visit the Padong 'long neck' tribe who wear brass rings around the neck making them look extra long especially the older women who have worn the rings for many years. Spend the night in a riverside resort in Thaton, with time in the evening to wander around and explore this charming , sleepy little town. (B,L) Day 3 In the morning drive south from Thaton and stop at Chiang Dao Caves, a complex of ancient cave temples used as sites of worship for many centuries. Then continue on to visit a Palong hilltribe village, where we spend some time to explore the village. This tribe wears distinctive red clothing with bamboo fashioned hoops around the waist and recently migrated from Burma. Continue south from Chiang Dao towards Chiang Mai, upon reaching Chiang Mai we take you to visit Chiang Mai's most famous temple - Doi Suthep temple; situated on a hill overlooking the city. After touring around the temple and admiring the view from the top, we drive down and then transfer you to your hotel. Day 1
Drive north of Chiang Mai, first

Spend some time exploring the market town. Then we drive a bit further to
visit the Golden Triangle, where the three countries of Burma, Thailand and
Laos meet on the Mekong River. Day 2
In the morning drive across upper Northern
Thailand and visit Mae Salong, an ethnic Chinese town set in the hills,
north of Chiang Rai. Mae Salong is famous for its Chinese atmosphere and
produces various Chinese agricultural products, the most famous being its
Chinese tea. Day 3
After breakfast depart from the Karen village
and drive south towards Chiang Mai. On the way back stop at an elephant camp and take a ride on the elephants (for approx. 1hr)
as well as bamboo rafting down the river. Continue driving
through the Northern Thailand scenery around Chiang Dao, and stop off at an

Day 1
Drive north of Chiang Mai, first

which gives you views across the hills of upper
Northern Thailand and visit Thaton. On the way visit the Padong 'long neck'

especially the older women who have worn the rings for many years. Day 3
After breakfast depart from the Palong village
by elephant and enjoy elephant riding for approx. 1 hr. A short hike of
about 20mins follows, until we reach the pick up point and we then drive to
the rafting point . Bamboo rafting for about 1 hr down the Ping River and drive south towards Chiang Mai.
Stop off at an
