Visit one of the most interesting areas to the south of Chiang Mai. First we go to Wieng Khum Kham (the ancient original city  before Chiang Mai), we see the old ruins of the temples and city which date back to before Chiang Mai was built. Then we continue south to the ancient city of Wieng Ta Kan located further south near the Ping River. We then continue on to Wat Phrathat Chomthong (approx. 60kms), one of the most important temples in the area. This temple shows a considerable Burmese influence, it is situated along one of the old trading routes running between Burma and Chiang Mai. Afterwards we drive on a little further to visit one of the famous waterfalls inside the Doi Inthanon National Park. This tour covers all the landmarks of the ancient cultural development of the area from the early pre Chiang Mai time to the beginning of the Lanna kingdom, as well as Mae Klang waterfall for relaxation at the end of the day. Return to Chiang Mai approx. 4pm.
